Benefits
- A systematic, quantifiable security assessment process (RAM), designed at and licensed through Sandia National Laboratories, federal agency verified and validated
- A security equation for multi-hazards
- A security approach for multi-environments
- Security as intellectual capital, as detection, delay, response Vs. guns and guards
- Performance based solutions, attainable levels of confidence
- Terrorism and vulnerabilities approached as "risk management" , as a 'call' on "in-place information and business management"
S/M-art Security delivers security risk assessment and management information. It presents security methodologies that have been verified and validated by federal agencies. Professional engineering and security peer-groups recognize the methodology as providing results, uniformly across infrastructures and organizational platforms. Allows the user to be a ‘victor, not a victim,” of robust multi-discipline information, complexity and technology.
Principals
Surety Aggregator‘s S/Mart Security combines the engineering and business networks of Strothman/Associates, Inc., Evanston, Illinois and of Rudolph Matalucci Consultants, Inc. Albuquerque, New Mexico to collaborate and transfer business, risk assessment and surety engineering knowledge and tools, across-disciplines, to the public and private sector. Providing a licensed and licensable security methodology, federal agency verified and validated.
Background
The methodology roots originate in the science and technology space surrounding high consequence systems engineering and referred to as ‘surety engineering’. Surety engineering (www.sandia.gov) seeks to provide a level of confidence that an engineered system will operate as planned under both expected and unexpected circumstances.
Surety engineering principles call for both a systematic and a risk management approach for identifying, assessing and mitigating risk. Surety engineering attributes address ‘reliability (functionality) in normal conditions’, ‘safety of people and surroundings in abnormal environments’ and ‘security in malevolent environments’. Both principles and attributes reflect the experience and intellectual capital gained over 50 years of science and engineering research associated with building and maintaining this nations nuclear weapons systems; maintaining its security, safety, & reliability.
Surety Aggregator broadens this engineering knowledge base to include business discipline knowledge, as: funding, compliance, and management / measurement of use of scarce capital. The Surety Aggregator approach provides a systematic risk response to the security question, “How do we know and measure both what we know and don’t know” when spending security dollars.”
Strothman/Associates, Inc. (S/A, Inc.) is licensed in Architectural Surety®, RAM-Dsm and maintains Surety Aggregator. S/A, Inc. teams with Dr. Rudy Matalucci of Rudolph Matalucci Consultants, Inc. to provide risk assessment methodology familiarization, process verification, and validation. US Department of Energy’s Sandia National Laboratories is a source to intellectual capital surrounding the methodology, verifying and validating its system engineering values.
